Mr. Muller was born in July 1958 to an Italian mother and a Swiss father. From a very young age, it was apparent that young Franck was extremely mechanically inclined. He graduated from the school with immense technical skills, but found himself in mid-1970s timepiece market that saw electronic and quartz watches dominating the industry. Demand for quality mechanical timepieces was virtually nil. As such, Franck spent the beginning of his professional career fixing and restoring old mechanical timepieces for collectors and enthusiasts. Franck had the opportunity to work on a huge variety of timepieces, with each building up his experience. Before long, Muller was recognized internationally as an expert restorer of antique watches and clocks. As Muller's career developed, he not only furthered his repair skills, but also took to designing some of his own timepieces and timepiece technologies. By 1992 Muller had obtained 4 patents and 21 world premiers. Muller became known for his highly complicated timepieces that attempted to fuse art and science in a single elegant package. These luxury timepieces feature Franck Muller's signature large Arabic numbers and extremely sophisticated movements. Today, Franck Muller represents timepieces that are complicated, striking, beautiful, and above all, unique. Muller's designs continue to impress watch enthusiasts from all around the globe. |
