Breitling Models
Breitling Navitimer. In launching the Navitimer in 1952, Breitling gave pilots a genuine wrist instrument. Ingenious and efficient, this chronograph is endowed with a built in "navigation computer". A circular slide rule, capable of performing all calculations a flight plan requires. The Navitimer thus became the official watch of the AOP, the world's largest grouping of pilots. This is the model for which Breitling is most famed. Originally a manual watch it has been updated to automatic. This watch is a legend among pilots, the first to be fitted with a slide rule to calculate fuel consumption; rate of assent, air speed, distance, the list is endless. Also having a chronograph function, supplying the pilot with minute and hour totalisers, it made the watch the complete aviation timepiece. Today, the model has evolved into a line of original mechanical chronographs, featuring exclusive technical features.
