Breitling Replica:In 1884 in the Jura mountains of Switzerland, Leon Breitling opened a workshop specializing in the making chronograph pocket watches and precision counters for scientific and industrial purposes. During WWI, recognizing rapid advancements in aviation and the need for a precision timepiece for that purpose, Leon's son, Gaston Breitling introduced the first wrist-watch chronograph providing pilots with the first Breitling wristwatch. One watch made the name of Breitling famous worldwide, the Navitimer. In 1952 this watch was a sensation. The chronograph, along with the calculator, enabled airplaine pilots to carry out all necessary calculations during flight. The Navitimer was a valuable on-board instrument, and remains a valuable collectible today. It is a wrist instrument equipped with the famous "navigation computer" capable of handling all calculations called for by a flight plan. This super chronograph quickly becomes a firm favorite among pilots around the globe. By this stage, Breitling is already supplying the major international airlines with cockpit counters. |
